Anita Ekberg (born 29 September 1931, died 11 January 2015) was a Swedish actress and model, best known for her role in Federico Fellini's La Dolce Vita (1960), where her iconic scene in Rome's Trevi Fountain made her a global symbol of beauty. Born in Malmo, she began as a model, winning Miss Sweden in 1950, and later worked in Hollywood films like War and Peace (1956). Ekberg lived much of her life in Italy, starring in numerous European films. She passed away in Rocca di Papa, aged 83. The picture is taken in Malmo on her return from Hollywood. In 1955, Anita Ekberg broke into Hollywood with key roles in films like Blood Alley (with John Wayne) and Artists and Models (with Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis), earning a Golden Globe nomination for the latter. She also guest-starred in TV series Casablanca and Private Secretary, and featured in a Time magazine article on Sin and Sweden that boosted her as a sex symbol. Wood effect frame, card mounted, 10x8 fade resistant photo print. Overall outside dimensions 14x12 inches (36x31cm). Environmentally and ozone friendly, 40mm wide x 15mm Polycore® moulding has the look of real wood, is durable and light and easy to hang. Biodegradable and made with non-chlorinated gases (no toxic fumes) it is efficient; producing 100 tons of polystyrene can save 300 tons of trees! Prints are glazed with lightweight, shatterproof, optical clarity acrylic (providing the same general protection from the environment as glass).
