Framed Print of Austin-Healey Sprite MK1 Frogeye: Icon of 1960s Rally Spirit

Austin-Healey Sprite MK1 Frogeye: Icon of 1960s Rally Spirit. In this vibrant 1960 image from the Nordic Women's Rally, two female participants stand beside their Austin-Healey Sprite MK1 Frogeye, a compact British sports car celebrated for its cheeky, frog-like headlights and revolutionary monocoque body design. Launched in 1958 by Donald Healey Motor Company under BMC, the Sprite offered affordable fun with a 948cc A-series engine delivering 43 hp, rear-wheel drive, and a lightweight 1, 500 lbs frame-ideal for spirited driving and motorsport. Its significance lies in democratizing sports cars, empowering women in rallying during an era of emerging gender equality in autosport, and influencing badge-engineered siblings like the MG Midget. Famous owners such as Stirling Moss and Steve McQueen piloted Sprites in races, underscoring its racing pedigree, while the model's enduring appeal has made it a collector's gem worldwide
